Monogram Frenzy!

Okay so I know I have been cranking out the monograms lately, but I just can't help myself. I've been finding inspiration everywhere, and these new monograms are the result. After going through my monograms I realized that I really didn't have many simple ones. Simple monograms really make a statement on a runner so the one on the top left corner is a new addition to my simple monograms. As for the others, they are a little on the fancy side, but they are still beautiful in their own right. Enjoy!

(For you Twilight fans out there, check out my shout out to Mr. Cullen himself haha...this is getting sad)

New Monograms!

Here are a few new monograms that I whipped up today. Most brides at the moment are planning their weddings for Spring and Summer of next year, so with that in mind I included some floral detailing in these new ones. I think the blue and brown one is my favorite. What do you think?

SR Feature: Amanda and Brent

I love it when brides have a theme that they include throughout their wedding. It really does tie the tone and theme of the wedding together so nicely. That's why I was completely excited when Amanda contacted me about an aisle runner. Amanda really liked my Contemporary Monogram 3, but wanted to include tulips somehow. After some brain storming we came up with the idea of taking the "&" sign out and replacing it with a tulip. I thought it was a great idea and I am completely happy with the results. Congratulations Amanda and Brent!

Here is what the original monogram looked like:And here is Amanda's monogram:And finally, here is Amanda's finished aisle runner:

New Stunning Runners Logo!

For some reason my original logo has always bugged me. I could never quite put my finger on it, but there was something off about it. I loved that it had a clean contemporary design, but I thought it needed more "oomph" I guess you could say. Enter in my new logo:

It is still not a done deal yet, I'm just kid of testing it at the moment to see how I feel about it. If you read my blog, please please please tell me what you think! Feedback is exactly what I am looking for at the moment. Do you like my new or old logo better? So you can compare more thoroughly, here is my original logo.

I am open for any and all suggestions. Let me know what you think! Thanks!

Stunning Runners Feature: Kari & Eric

I just wanted to start out this post by saying how much I adore this aisle runner. I love everything about it, the beautiful "A", the gorgeous deep red color, everything! Jo Ann found my website and ordered this runner with my classic monogram 2 for a friend who is getting married December 13th. We went back and forth over adding silver in the mix, but I am glad we ended up choosing one color. It looks amazing! Here is the finished product:

New to Stunning Runners: Table Runners!

So, Kenny's cousin Brittney is getting married in December, and Kenny's aunt Renee threw her a shower this past Saturday. Renee contacted me about making Brittney a table runner to include in her shower and to give her as a gift to use on her wedding day. I was completely excited to get started on this, considering I had never made a table runner before! It turned out to be a very strenuous task (ironing, hemming, attaching the ribbon, painting the monogram) but I think it turned out great, and I am now including table runners in my repertoire. Congrats Brittney & Austin!

I think this would look amazing draped over a sweet heart table!

2009 Wedding Color Trends

For some reason I have found myself slightly obsessed with wedding colors. I love looking at wedding pictures and seeing what new color combinations brides come up with. Wedding colors truly do set the overall tone of a wedding and are therefore very important, not to mention that they determine the colors of my new monograms. According to theknot.com the following combinations are 2009's big wedding color trends, so if you are planning a wedding take notes!

#1: Blush and Mauve
I think this combination is very classic and has a slight vintage feel to it. It is also very girly, so if you have an extremely manly fiance beware!

#2: Turquoise and Chartreuse
This is actually one of my favorites out of all of these new combinations. I love that it is fresh and summery, without being too neon and flashy. I think this would be great for a spring or summer wedding!

#3: Garnet and Tangerine
I'm still a little unsure about these colors. For this to work I think only certain shades or garnet and tangerine can be used. But if used correctly I think this would look great for a fall wedding.

#4: Navy and Fuschia
I truly love this color combination. One of my good friends used colors similar to this in her wedding with a lighter pink, and it made for an extremely unique and elegant wedding. Sometimes putting two unrelated colors together really makes a beautiful statement.

#5: Lemon and Celadon
These colors just so fresh and crisp together. If you are having a spring outdoor wedding, please use these! They will make such a beautiful wedding. I especially LOVE the cake below. Less really is more.

#5: Lavender, Cream, and Chocolate
I can't help but get a grandma feel when I think about these colors, but like most colors if done in the right way they can be beautiful.

And there you have it, next years new wedding colors. I hope this has inspired you to steer clear of the ordinary and use your wedding colors to make a beautiful statement! Let me know which ones you like the best!

Some recent work

So, I've decided to use this post to update some the items I've made for brides before I started this blog. One of my first orders came from a bride (and friend) named Allison. Allison really liked my classic monogram 2 and thought it would look great on her programs. Her colors were plum and a kind of chartreuse green (which turned out gorgeous!). This was her finished monogram:

Allison also wanted me to design a kind of vine design in the same colors that she could use on the back of her programs, I made 4 for her to choose from and this was the one she decided on:

A little while after I finished Allison's monogram, Angela contacted me about a monogram for her wedding. Angela said she had fallen in love with my contemporary monogram 7 and would like it in plum and silver (apparently plum is a very popular color this wedding season!) Here is how hers turned out:

My next project was a big one. Richard contacted me (first time I had worked directly with a groom!) about an aisle runner for his autumn wedding. He wanted two 25' runners with my autumn monogram 1  (My hardest monogram to paint!) painted on each on. It was a very time consuming job but I love the way it turned out. I also love that Richard and his bride Laurie decided to include their children's names on their runner.

Well, that's just a few of the items I have been working on lately. I currently am working on an aisle runner and a banner, so please check back soon!

New Monograms!

It had been quite a while since I had made any new monograms, so in a bit of creativeness I made some new ones today. Let me know what you think!

Welcome!!!

Welcome to the official Stunning Runners blog! I've never really been a blogger (although I thoroughly enjoy reading others), but I hope to use this blog to share stories and pictures of the latest items that I've been working on for brides, new items that I'm offering, and promotions that Stunning Runners is having. I plan on updating this as frequently as I can, so stop back by soon!
